Renaissance man - noun
1. a cultured man of the Renaissance who was knowledgeable, educated, or proficient in a wide range of fields.
2. ( sometimes lowercase ) a present-day man who has acquired profound knowledge or proficiency in more than one field.
Growing up I was always that quiet kid watching.. observing.. and doing my best to use what I learned as efficiently as possible without being a smart a.. ahem.. smarty pants. I learned from an early age, that observation was a wonderful tool so easily overlooked by other children. It's a lesson which has served me very well over my 27 years of life.
I learned how to save lives as an EMT. Where the adrenaline rush of a 2 a.m. call gets countered by the tenderness you have to summon to comfort a 4 year old experiencing her first asthma attack.
I learned how to build, repair and upgrade PC's of all kinds. 15+ years of working and tinkering with computers can do that to a guy. Technology in general just always seemed to meet its match with me. Wall mounting televisions, setting up home theaters systems.. all have become a hobby, hopefully one day a lucrative one.
Baking and cooking is a love of mine which has proven to be remarkably rewarding for me as it has attracted the attention of the woman of my dreams, Leslie. Writing is a wonderful challenge and completing my novel is proving to be an exercise in patience and my creativity.
Where will all these facets of my life coalece? No way of knowing. Thats the beauty of life. My book is open and the pages are willingly flapping in the wind awaiting an worthy reader to peruse a chapter and indulge.
