Jason Chafin

My background is in environmental and urban planning and policy analysis and my foreground is WordPress development, PHP programing and CSS design.

With a Master’s Degree in Environmental Studies and over 10 years experience as an urban planner, policy analyst and project manager, a passion of mine is the exploration of the myriad ways humans interact with their environment, whether it be the “natural” environment or the urban “built” environment.

I have also had a life-long fascination with technology. As a kid, I was always tinkering with computers. When I was in sixth grade, my family purchased its first Apple IIe and I used it to write my first bits of code in BASIC. I developed my first static HTML website in college and, since then, have maintained a keen interest in internet technologies and web development. Five years ago, I discovered PHP, which led me to WordPress.

Using my skills as a project manager and policy analyst from my career as an urban planner, combined with my skills as a front-end web developer, including my knowledge of PHP, CSS, HTML5, and the Adobe Creative Suite, I formed Blackbird Consulting, a web development and internet services consultancy. Primarily focused on WordPress web development, we also offer graphic design, customized Social Media development, SEO and custom html email marketing template development.
