About me

I've been designing, developing and creating online since 1996. Not professionally at first, that started happening in 2001 when I became a marketer - it's not a bad word. What became my career began as a kid's outlet for creativity. I'm open to anything and try to approach the unknown with sagacity and, at times, smartassery - it's a coping mechanism.

Keeping that in mind, if you share my curiosity for the new. Have a passion for the present, and can't wait for what's next. . . I look forward to working together.

What I do

I approach design, development, and education in an iterative and incremental cycle. This allows for solutions to evolve through collaboration between myself, individuals and teams. I try to stick to rules of information design and visual literacy that are universally comparative from one culture to the next. I make sure I design and deliver for "the audience" while staying fresh, original and entertaining.

What I want to do

The clichéd 5 years from now: I plan (fingers-crossed) to be done with my Ph.D and teaching and researching and writing. I want to work at the university level and educate on visual communication, digital literacies and communication praxis and theory. I want to evolve and adapt to our ever evolving communicative world.

In the near future I am looking for the right situation at a local university or college. I want to work in academia first to acclimatize to the culture. Then prepare myself and understand how I can make situations in the EDU better, enjoyable, and easier for people.

Presently I work for the largest public university in the country. I manage marketing, communications and design projects for student, faculty and staff channels, both online and offline.
