Jason C Hopcus is a passionate crusader for mental health awareness. Recognizing that 100% of us have mental health, he is committed to changing the way we see mental health. His efforts seek to reduce the internalized stigma associated with mental health, through early intervention, education, and social outreach. He has dedicated himself to share a message of hope to those affected.

His own journey uncovered a missing link between traditional support and continued care, for both families and loved ones affected by mental health. This is a virtually unmet and unending community need. Early on, he partnered with the National Alliance on Mental Illness as a place of support. Quickly, he saw an opportunity to join their efforts and has since become involved in various leadership roles. His professional and personal pursuits blend seamlessly to speak, consult, advocate and champion a cause that needs much attention.

Currently, Jason leads the National Alliance on Mental Illness – Arapahoe/Douglas Counties (NAMI ADCO) as its President and CEO. For 20 years, NAMI ADCO has proudly supported those affected by mental health. Today, NAMI ADCO is the largest affiliate within Colorado, serving Arapahoe and Douglas, which is comprised of nearly one million individuals.

Jason advocates to build awareness and garner greater community support. He is working to make NAMI ADCO the preeminent source for no-cost mental health education, support and outreach. His work through NAMI has allowed him to share his story of hope with over 150 audiences in the last several years. His past roles at NAMI include: Interim Executive Director, NAMI Colorado, Board Vice President, NAMI Colorado.

Jason wholeheartedly supports each person’s right to live their best life. Through story sharing, he aims to create awareness and de-stigmatize mental health, with one focus in mind, everyone has mental health.
