Hi.

I'm a engineer. I dream up algorithms, build software and make new applications from mathematics.

Although, when I was 9 years old I wanted to be an Astrophysicist.

Specifically, I wanted to be just like Carl Sagan, working at NASA on the latest planetary spacecraft. So that's how I set about my life for the following 15 years.

I did get that degree in Astrophysics. First Class with Bells on, top of the class. Then got a PhD at University College London, writing mathematical models of the visual cortex, which got me hooked into cameras and vision. So before I graduated, I started my own company to provide mathematical vision solutions in the vision industry; Vision Experts Ltd.

And that's what I still do; I dream up mathematical algorithms and turn them into software.

I've worked on some amazing projects, most of which I can't talk about, but many I wish I could. It took 30 years, but I did work for NASA for a while, in the middle of desert in a heat-wave, putting some of the 'I' into 'AI' on a DARPA project.

I've developed systems for heads-up panoramic combat situational awareness to live nuclear reactor inspection. Many international universities, top scientific establishments, multinationals and big industries use the products and software I've invented since we started.

I've recently been developing the video capture system for the next UK land speed record attempt, BLOODHOUND.

I also designed the vision system for the company that puts all those annoying labels on fruit. Sorry about that one.

My most recent involvement is with Flight Club in London, inventing the intelligent system to visually recognize and score a real game of pub darts.

I still freelance on sufficiently interesting vision projects for industry and defense.

And love every second of it.
