JASON KINNEY

My experience in education, training and leadership development comes from a diverse background of work and service in the non-profit, construction, retail, and manufacturing industries. Competencies in project development, coaching and facilitation compliment my desire to help individuals and organizations realize their capacity for influence.

To augment these strengths I completed an advanced sheet metal apprenticeship at The Apprentice School, Newport News Shipbuilding, and was immediately promoted to Apprentice Craft Instructor where I managed the production and training of apprentice crews across all major shipbuilding projects. I also served as a coach and advisor to production support teams and worked directly with lead general foremen and program directors on leadership development and earned value management initiatives.

I continued my education with undergraduate studies in business management and post-graduate studies in leadership and human resources at The George Washington University’s School of Education and Human Development. I’ve been awarded for performance and leadership by the Virginia Department of Labor, Virginia Apprenticeship Council, the Virginia Apprenticeship Alumni Association and The George Washington University and have earned corporate honors for project support and leadership at Newport News Shipbuilding.

Currently, I serve at The Apprentice School in the areas of academics and leadership development. My time is spent supporting academic initiatives, designing, coordinating, and facilitating leadership development initiatives, and serving as an advisor and consultant to students, faculty and management.
