Hello! My name is Jason Krentz and I'm a senior majoring in Nursing at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). I was born and raised in Belleville, NJ in 1995 and moved down to the Rio Grande Valley in 2002. I'm mixed race (half white/half filipino) and take pride in my heritage as part of my identity as an individual living in the United States.
Currently, I am an Edinburg, Texas-based Student Mentor who has many interests but my main ones are in swimming, travel, and dance. I’m also a fan of volunteering and music. Besides those mentioned above, I'm in three student organizations on campus: Alpha Lambda Delta, National Society of Collegiate Scholar, and lastly the Filipino Student Association.
In the Filipino Student Association I was the Treasurer for the 2015-2016 school year and gained many skills useful for future endeavors, that being said, I also participated in dance competitions for the club in the past two years.
Lastly, I'm happy to work with students I come across and to help them succeed is the motivation to keep me going!
