Dr. Walton currently serves as Principal of Galloway Advisors, LLC. He has had career spanning both K-12 and higher education. Before founding Galloway Advisors Dr. Walton served at Lynn University as Chief of Staff and Staff Liaison to the Board of Trustees.

As Chief of Staff, Dr. Walton served as lead advisor to the president on all university-related matters, managed the president’s office, sat as a member of the university cabinet, and oversaw the Office of Institutional Research, Planning and Assessment. Dr. Walton also served as the primary staff liaison to the university Board of Trustees.

Dr. Walton notably assisted in developing the long-range strategic plan for Lynn University. Dr. Walton co-chaired Lynn University's 2011 decennial reaffirmation effort with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Dr. Walton also spear-headed the establishment of the university's comprehensive six-volume institution-wide policy manual. Additionally, Dr. Walton served as co-chair of the Campus Planning Committee that prepared for the October 22, 2012 Presidential Debate held on campus at Lynn University.

Before joining Lynn University, Dr. Walton was Assistant Director for the Office of Education Accountability for the State of Tennessee.

Prior to working in Tennessee state government, Dr. Walton served as Associate Editor of the Peabody Journal of Education, the longstanding education journal of Vanderbilt University’s nationally ranked Peabody College of Education and Human Development.

Dr. Walton began his career in education as a 9th and 10th grade high school English teacher. His four-year term of service made him the fourth consecutive generation in his family to serve the state of Mississippi as a public educator.
