I'm a Managing Director and co-founder at Foundry Group, a seed and early-stage national venture capital firm. In the past, I've been a lawyer, software engineer and percussionist.

I'm the co-author of Venture Deals, How to be Smarter than your Lawyer and Venture Capitalist and a former blogger on my own site and Ask The VC.

In my spare time, I've remodeled old homes and serve as an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado. I also love to travel and enjoying hiking to burn off the calories that I obtain experimenting with food and drink.

My favorite hobby, however, revolves around all things music, from creating to performing to listening. My current band is Legitimate Front, where I sing, play guitar and drums. I'm also attempting to learn tennis as my mid-life crises coping mechanism.
