Jason Rubin

Jason Rubin is an American video game director, comic book creator, and Web company founder.

He is best known for the Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter series of games. The seven titles in these two series sold more than 35 million copies, generated over a billion dollars at retail, and were directed by Rubin and created by Naughty Dog, the game development studio he co-founded with partner and childhood friend Andy Gavin in 1986. Rubin and Gavin sold Naughty Dog to Sony Computer Entertainment in 2001, and turned the company over to their successors in 2004.

In 2007 Rubin co-founded Flektor, a web based media mashup tool, with Andy Gavin and Jason Kay. The trio sold Flektor to Fox Interactive in 2008 and the technology was folded into MySpace.

In his spare time, Rubin created and wrote two comic book series, The Iron Saint, published by Aspen Comics and TopCow, and Mysterious Ways, soon to be published by TopCow.

Rubin became President of THQ, a leading vide game publisher in an attempt to stop the companies downward trend. He helped find most of the development talent and products new homes.
