Jason Seals
Merritt College Instructor in Oakland, California
Since 2007, Jason Seals has developed curriculum and taught African American studies courses at Merritt College in Oakland. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Mr. Seals has facilitated numerous trainings and workshops on topics such as cultivating healthy relationships, cultural sensitivity, and supporting the African American family. Previously, Jason Seals served as a facilitator with Males in Motion, a Berkeley High School program that offers guidance and mentorship for African American male students, and as a lecturer at San Francisco State University.
Mr. Seals holds a bachelor of arts in sociology with a minor in African American studies from San Jose State University, a master of arts in Africana studies from State University of New York, and a master of education in counseling psychology from the University of San Francisco. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership from Mills University. Mr. Seals is a founding board member of East Bay School for Boys and serves on the leadership council of the Brotherhood of Elders Network.
