Jason Seliskar

Rowland Ave Elementary

I am a teacher that has a passion for the integration of technology in the classroom. Sharing my experience and education in this area with other teachers to help enhance learning in the classroom.

I have co-designed and trained Covina-Valley USD's 1:1 iTeach, iLearn, iPad program. Planned and wrote the district's technology plan. Been part of the curriculum mapping committees for preparation for Common Core. I serve as a district technology coach and lead the site tech team on my campus to help teachers successfully integrate technology into the curriculum.

My classroom consists of 1:1 iPads and 1:1 Chromebooks. The technology is integrated into my students learning using GAFE, blogging sites, iMovie and other apps and websites. Using these devices we have managed to go paperlite in our classroom.

My recent presentations include: Getting Tuned into iTunesU (CUE 2014), Google Apps in Elementary (Saddleback Valley 2013), iPads in the Classroom (Nativity School 2013), Revolutionize Your Classroom with QR Codes (ISTE 2012), Going Wild with Weebly (CUE 2012), Going Green with iMovie (CUE 2011), QR Codes in the Classroom in Nashville, TN via Skype, and at the 21st Century Learners Symposium. Over the years my students have won several LACOE Digital Voice Awards in Los Angeles, including the Best Overall Elementary projects for 2010 and 2011. Also, for Viral Parody Student Video and Best Student Website for the 2014 and 2012 California Student Media Festivals.

I also consult with companies on best ways to implement emerging technologies into their daily workflow.
