Jason Southgate

Jason trained at Central St Martins London and received an Arts Council Design Bursary in 2000.

Jason is a set, puppet and costume designer for Theatre, Opera, Dance and FIlm.

He has worked for a number of prestigious companies in the UK including Theatre Royal Haymarket (West End), The Royal Opera Covent Garden, English National Opera, English National Ballet, Young Vic and Citizens Theatre Glasgow. Other UK companies include Buxton Festival Opera, Mid-Wales Opera, Nottingham Playhouse, Unicorn Theatre and Arcola Theatre. He has also worked internationally for Bregenz Opera Festival, Savonlinna Opera Festival, Hong Kong Arts Festival, Landestheater Salzburg, Frankfurt Opera, Opera Zuid Maastrict, OMMA Athens, Wexford Festival Opera and Marriinsky Opera St Petersburg.

Jason is also an acclaimed puppet designer/maker and model maker.

He has also led design workshops in Pakistan for the British Arts Council and in the UK.
