Jason Hayes is the director of Energy and Environmental Policy for the Mackinac Center for Public Policy and an adjunct scholar with Northwood University’s McNair Center. Jason has spent over three decades focused on energy and environmental policies. He has worked as a forester and park ranger in the backcountry of British Columbia and has co-authored research on national parks and grizzly bear management for the Fraser Institute in Calgary, AB. He spent fifteen years researching and communicating energy and environmental policy in the North American energy industry, before moving to Michigan and the Mackinac Center in 2016. His comment and analysis is regularly featured in The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The Hill, National Review, Reason, and many other media sources.
