Javan Ward

Javan Ward is a world traveling photographer, musical tastemaker, filmmaker, and environmentalist. Nomadically based between Oregon, USA, Bali, Indonesia, and the Island of Hawaii. Javan endeavors to explore the far reaches of remote destinations, searching for earth's pristine landscapes, rich indigenous cultures, and outdoor adventure.

As a freelance photographer, Javan's work captures images layered by live music soundscapes, wild landscapes, travel, lifestyle, creative portraiture, and adventure. Javan has crafted a style punctuated by the powerful, heart-pounding essence of our relation to nature as much as each other. In an attempt to narrow the space between his subjects and their reality, Javan’s work immortalizes human-powered stories that emerge from his personal journey as well as human history, culture, and nature.

Recently, Javan spent six months working in the luxury travel and adventure industry as the Operations Manager at Dunia Baru Adventures — recognized as the best Asia-Based Charter Company by Asia Boating Awards in 2017 and 2018 — Dunia Baru is a traditionally crafted Indonesian phinisi style superyacht cruising the remote waters near and around Bali, Raja Ampat, Komodo and many more destinations throughout the archipelago. As Operations Manager, Javan managed a broad spectrum of operations including but not limited to advising guests on tailored itineraries, strategizing marketing and PR initiatives, overseeing media production, developing partnerships with yacht brokers/travel agents, and assisting in the sale of charter bookings.
