"So I close in saying that I may have had a tough break, but I have an awful lot to live for." By: Lou Gehrig in his farewell speech

This quote signifies that you cannot let anything get in your way in life. You have to combat challenges. Lou Gehrig was diagnosed with a very serious illness we now know today as ALS. He was close to death but he still said he was the "luckiest man on earth." He said that all the fans, accomplishment, and his legacy pushed him along. This quote, not only from a baseball legend, is very meaningful. It personifies the character that leaders of great resilience have. It is a character I want to follow and I try to mirror my life on his.

My artifact

I chose my fist homerun baseball as my artifact. I hit it in 2009 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. It was so great to finally hot my first real homerun, not a inside the park homerun. It was one of my goals in life as a child to hot the homerun. It was awesome when I finally hit it. It gave me a sense of accomplishment and now it serves as motivation to be successful in the future. I want to have that felling again and that is why this ball I so important to me
