Javier Martin Ortega

The most important thing to me is family and friends. I have always had a good relationship with my family and I am lucky to have good friends. I am lucky to have good friends because there are people I know that do not have good luck with theirs. I thank my family for teaching me ways to make good friends and for always being there for me. They taught me well and because of what they taught me I have had good opportunities.

My life has always involved basketball. My parents told me that basketball was just a hobby and that education should always be first, but because of basketball I have been able to go to very good schools and have the opportunity to get a good education. Going to a better school also ment I would be able to play on a better basketball team. When I was 15 I had to go to a highschool that was 330 miles away from my parents because of basketball, but the highschool was very good. Basketball has even brought me to the US where I am learning how to speak english and I am also meeting new people who are from around the world.

Besides basketball I enjoy listening to music. My favorite music is rap although I can find moments where I like to listen to other music. Music helps me escape from the world just like basketball does. Music is better in the way that I can listen to it when ever and where ever I want because of technology.
