Manager, Researcher, and Director in Madrid, España
Fascinated by Sovereign Wealth Funds (SWFs). Recent events include my move to IE Business School (#1 Worldwide according to The Economist) to set up the new IE Sovereign Weatlth Lab and continue my research and projects related to SWFs. Second novelty, I am involved in investment intermediation both in European transactions in real estate, hotels, and venture capital. Also, started activities related to the amazing World of art business (from Picasso to Van Gogh). More details through email.
Global financial crisis, eurozone crisis and today's China turmoil reflect well how economic and political fields overlap continuosly. A new style of this inter-dependencies is well represented by SWFs. I am finishing my PhD at ESADE Business School. The topic is the relationships between SWFs, corporate governance and companies.
I have spent five months at the College of Business at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (IL, USA) under the supervision of Prof. Ruth Aguilera (now at Northeastern University, Boston, MA). My co-advisor is Prof. Javier Santiso (now based in London). I have travelled over the World presenting my research or attending specialized conferences: the World Bank (DC), Columbia University (NYC), Harvard Business School (MA), Sciences Po (Paris), OECD, London School of Economics, Qatar Investment Authority, Academy of International Business (Vancouver, Canada), International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds (Auckland, New Zealand)...
Also, I am totally embarked on entrepreneurship and venture capital issues in Spain and abroad with the creation of the Start Up Spain series (www.start-up-spain.com). I work connecting venture capital with SWFs too.
I love tennis, soccer and music (any kind of good music). I also love reading, writing, photography and genuine screenplayed movies.
