Javon Shell

My name is Javon Shell and I am a recent graduate from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Communications. I plan to work in broadcasting/communications. My work experience upholds this. I have worked for Big Ten Network Student U. There I commentated sporting events such as basketball, baseball, field hockey, and numerous other games. I also worked behind the scenes making graphic, showing live in-game replays, running camera, and everything else that goes into production. I also have worked with a start-up clothing company called Greatness the One. There i worked as a social media manager and ambassador. There I worked on marketing strategies to spread awareness about the company and inflate sales. The company has grown in popularity over the past few year. I also have some experience in sales with my past as a sales associate at Champs Sports. There i was taught how to understand a customers needs. It also taught me great communication skills. It helped me understand a person with only talking to them for a few minutes. I knew what questions to ask and also how to answer them myself. During my schooling, I also took part in many organizations. I was president of my fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. I was also Vice Chairman of a student org called H.E.A.D.S., which allowed minority students to come together every week and talk about issues going on in the world or campus. It was a safe space for men to left off the stresses of classes. I have done a lot in a short amount of time. I think my past and diversity has taught me a lot. I think I can be a huge asset in the media based on all my past experiences and personality. My main goal is to make a difference for the better. My skills include public speaking, writing, editing, photography, and video editing. I am a hard worker and determined and it CAN NOT be matched.
