Jawoo is a Senior Research Fellow at International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), Washington, DC, working on the modeling of crop production systems in the developing world. Jawoo works in the Environment and Production Technology Division.

Jawoo received M.Sc and Ph.D. degrees from the McNair Bostick Simulation Lab in Ag. Engineering Dept., the University of Florida (Go Gators!) in 2007. At IFPRI, Jawoo works on the HarvestChoice project, an initiative co-lead by IFPRI and the University of Minnesota, that generates knowledge products to help stakeholders and policymakers to make better strategic decisions in sub-Saharan Africa.

Collaborating with various research and development partners in Africa, Jawoo is working to design and develop Technology Platform, which is an Africa-wide technical partnership to support strategic decision making on agricultural technology investments. Jawoo also serves as the Global Coordinator of CGIAR-CSI, a Community of Practice of geospatial scientists in CGIAR centers, and co-founded CGIAR Platform for Big Data in Agriculture program.
