Jayanthi Pushkaran is a development professional with a special interest in gender and policy . She is the Senior Program Officer for India at an US based International non-profit EMpower- The Emerging Markets Foundation. She manages grantee partnerships with a special focus on India. Prior to joining EMpower, Jayanthi has worked at the Stockholm Resilience Centre and National Institute of Science Technology and Development Studies. She acquired an M.Phil degree in Science and Public Policy from Jawaharlal Nehru University and a Master’s degree from University of Delhi, in Environmental Studies. She is based in New Delhi. She is a Young Connector of Future Alumnus and was a Senior Research Fellow at Institute of Development Studies, Sussex University.
At the end of the day, when the labels are stripped away and all job descriptions are rendered useless, she is just an advocate of socially just development. She thinks innovating the future, no matter how small or large, is the most important thing one can do with ones time
