I graduated Magna Cum Laud from West Virginia University in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a minor in communication studies. I concentrated in behavioral economics and public policy, and received the Buvinger Award in Economics, which is given to an “outstanding female student in the Department of Economics.” I also received a speaker award for competition on the WVU debate team. I studied economics, the Spanish language and culture in Costa Rica and Cuba before moving to Washington, D.C. to intern at a libertarian think tank, the Cato Institute, and then lobbying for medical marijuana reform at the Marijuana Policy Project. In 2005, I accepted the position of Biotechnology and Trade Policy Programs Coordinator at the U.S. Grains Council, a private, non-profit corporation with ten international offices and programs in more than 50 countries. I coordinated efforts of the Council’s overseas offices to successfully implement global, biotechnology awareness activities and conferences including the 2006 International Media Biotechnology Study Tour, which resulted in over 30 published articles in seven targeted countries. I moved to Richmond, VA in 2007 to begin work for Virginia Commonwealth University. As a Senior Integrity and Compliance Analyst, I implemented an ethics and compliance hotline, created a website for my department, drafted our Code of Conduct and lead ethics and compliance education initiatives to strengthen integrity at VCU. In 2011, I earned my MBA degree with a concentration in Managing Innovation. I love meeting new people and learning new skills--feel free to contact me by visiting my Linked-in page.
