Hi there, my name is Jayda, and other than hopping on flights back and forth between my two homes (Vancouver & Toronto) or at the nearest spin studio, you can find me walking my pug or at the nearest, trendiest brunch spot.

In 2016, I naively entered the city of Toronto, after living in Vancouver my entire life. I was accepted into the Media Production program at Ryerson University, my dream school and program! I am currently embarking in my fourth year as an RTA student, and I must say, where has the time gone? Because this is my personal website, I feel it is necessary to toot my own horn for a bit. So here goes nothing:

Throughout my years learning and reading about the media industry, I opted for venturing out into the working world and landing myself a couple internships. I have worked and interned for a variety of companies in both Vancouver and Toronto, in different social media, marketing and sales positions. Did I find what I wanted to make a career out of? No. But at the very least, I learned that I did not want to make a career out of those things. Currently, I am in the midst of browsing for my fourth year internship, and I think I have landed a position where I can utilize my public speaking skills, and teach kids who are eager to enter media studies! Sounds pretty sweet, doesn't it?

I would like to say that I am a passionate person. I find joy and enjoyment in things that make my adrenaline rush. Whether that is from a spin class or having my baby pug attack me, it makes me smile nonetheless. I find passion in making myself happy. Whether that is in forgetting my diet and treating myself to the best Mexican food in the city, or by dishing out $60 for a fresh manicure, if I feel happy and confident, it is definitely worth it.

To be completely honest, I have absolutely no idea what my future holds. When I entered Toronto four years ago, I dreamt of being a news anchor. Then my fear of being on camera settled in, and that dream quickly came to an end. After that, I thought about potentially narrowing in on Marketing, but then soon after, rejected that as well. Now, all I can tell you is I want to put my efforts where I can teach someone something. Putting my public speaking strengths to use, I want to speak in front of groups of people, and have them feel inspired by something I say.

Anyways, now that I have bored you with my life biography, if you found it the least bit exciting make sure to come back each week for more of, well, me.
