Jay Georgio Photography

Written by someone who knows her best:

After watching her father create intriguing sketches and oil paintings for as long as she could remember, Jay Georgio discovered at a very young age that this inherent form of creativity would eventually become her most prominent form of self-expression. It would be years before she would consider channeling that self-expression into still photography.

Studying at Columbia College Chicago shortly after high school enabled her to explore various facets of art from fashion design to animation. It was during this time that she was first introduced to photography after picking up a 35mm manual Pentax camera for a black and white photography class. The camera sparked a passion that sketching and painting hadn’t in years.

However, although passionate about the craft, it was a decade after that photography class when a friend asked for photo assistance on a special project that Jay Georgio vowed to never part with her camera again. From that point on she would use her creative eye as more than just a vessel for creating visual memories. Her talents behind the lens would evoke emotion and bring light and beauty to those things that might otherwise appear undesirable.

“Creativity turns into vision, vision into concepts, and concepts into images. My process, my passion, my life! I am… Jay Georgio Photography.”
