Jay Gotra

Jay Gotra was born and raised in India. He moved to the United States when he was 15 to continue his higher education. Growing up he was always helping out his family. He began helping his dad run his convenience store at age 15 all the while helping his uncle out with his car dealership. He did everything from selling cars to detailing them. Being around businessmen his whole life helped Jay understand the principles of owning and operating a business from a young age.

During his time at university, Jay Gotra came across an opportunity that would ultimately determine the course of his professional life. Jay started working in the home security systems industry to help support himself financially, and he quickly grew to love it. Jay poured himself into this professional development- learning the industry inside and out. He found that helping others by keeping them safe through these products and services was a fantastic motivating factor, and quickly realized that this part-time job could easily be the start of a serious career. Jay mastered everything from sales to installations and was quickly promoted.

This hard work and sacrifice eventually paid off. Today, Jay serves as the CEO of Alliance Security in Warwick, Rhode Island. For his company, their mission is simple. They look to help protect families and their homes all across the nation. During 2009 to 2012, Alliance Security experienced an exponential growth of 731%. Currently, the cyber security company happily secures over 100,000 customers today.

Much of this success would not have been possible if it weren't for the foundation and work culture Jay instills and empowers in his employees each and every day. For him, culture is everything. Jay states that, "Your greatest strength is your weakest link." Because of this, Jay looks to inspire and guide his workers to be bigger than themselves. He wants them to see success not as the goal, but as the vision for the company's future.

Recently, Providence Business News awarded Jay with the distinction of being one of Rhode Island's 40 under 40. PBN selects 40 of Rhode Island's highest performing professionals and awards them based on their level of commitment to making a difference on a local, domestic and/or global scale. The winners celebrated their victory in July at the Aldrich mansion in Warwick, RI.
