With more than 20 years of experience in finance, Jay Gulati owns Westend Development, LLC, based in Potomac, Maryland. The boutique commercial lending and real estate development firm concentrates on the development, entitlement,and sale of properties in and around Washington, D.C. Westend also has a commercial lending arm which provides financing for other local developers. Before engaging with Westend in 2011, Jay Gulati spent 15 years as a senior vice president of investments for Smith Barney and its successor company, Morgan Stanley, in their Bethesda, Maryland, offices.

Involved in real estate development and finance for almost seven years, Jay Gulati belongs to the Entrepreneur’s Organization of the National Association of Realtors. He also supports several charitable organizations, including the Washington Tennis and Education Foundation, several local independent film and arts associations, and cancer research groups. In addition, he contributed to initiatives created to improve relations between the United States and third-world countries, as well as fundraising for the local children’s hospital. He also mentors young entrepreneurs and disadvantaged youth.

When not in the office, Jay Gulati enjoys playing tennis, reading, traveling, and spending time with his family. Among his travels, he particularly enjoyed trips to Italy and Spain, as well as Israel.
