James J Sullivan
Brooklyn, New York
I have lived and done community work in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn for my entire life, which is 53 years. In addition to that I primarily worked as a teacher, counselor, consultant, and advocate in public, private, community based non profit groups, and non sectarian schools in grades 7-12 and college for 21 years. I also worked for American Online in software and development.
I can speak Spanish, French, and read Ancient languages as a result of my education. I am a fountain of conflicts. I am single, but fell in love. I am deeply Catholic, and skeptical at the same time. I am the child of Irish immigrants, but am very devoted to the USA. I have a brother and sister, both alive. I love diversity, and my interests are eclectic.
I have a BA in philosophy from Brooklyn College with a minority in Foreign Languages and an MA in Literacy in grades 7-12 with a specialty in Journalism and Media literacy. I have an MA in theology from Fordham University and Professional post Grad Certificate in Counseling and Disability Studies- I have published works for the National Conference of Teachers of English, and Scholastic Magazine, and work as a freelance journalist and website developer.
I have had a neurological disability my entire life, and currently working on a new project with respect to social justice for those who are Invisible.
