Hi, I’m Jay.

I grew up in the heart of a family-run, weekly newspaper. I spent my childhood surrounded by the rhythms of local journalism, realizing how community relations shape city narratives. I believe that every story matters.

I don’t think that curiosity should wane with age.

After studying public health and bioethics at the University of Washington (with a semester wandering through Edinburgh), I’ve found myself drawn to where health, storytelling, and human connectionintertwine.I’ve realized that the best solutions come from listening.

And then asking more and more and more questions.

I wrote a novel, a couple screenplays, and am always tinkering with something new. Recently, wood-fired pizza has been my obsession, bringing my friends and family around my table.

I often take long, aimless walks. That’s when my best ideas and realizations tend to surface.

I travel solo to help me be more comfortable with uncertainty. The stories and eventual dad lore I pick up along the way don’t hurt either.

I notice what others overlook—the small details, the conversations that happen between the margins.

I believe deeply that those of us with the ability to see have a responsibility to see, and more importantly, to help those who feel hidden feel seen.

I’d love to chat.
