Jaymi Merson

Hello everyone, my name is Jaymi Merson. I am 21 years old and currently am an Education major at Frostburg State University. I will be completing my first assistantship later this semester. This is my fourth year at Frostburg and will be graduating in May of 2016. After graduating I plan to join AmeriCorps, the Peace Corps, or Teach for America then eventually become a first grade teacher. I am a brother of the national co-ed service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega and the president of Frostburg’s chapter, Alpha Gamma Chi. Since being involved with the ECHOSTARS program freshmen year, I spend a lot of my free time volunteering around school and in the community. I also have a passion for celebrating cancer survivors, remembering those we have lost and fighting back against this tragic illness. I have been a part of Relay For Life for the past four years and have been a member of the Colleges Against Cancer team who makes Relay happen here at Frostburg for the past three. While studying at Frostburg I have become a very active citizen on campus and in the community.
