Jay Reibel

After attending Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, as an undergraduate, Dr. Jay Reibel enrolled at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Furthering his education, Dr. Reibel transferred to the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center, and subsequently received his M.D. He undertook a medical internship with the U.S. Public Health Service in New York and later completed a residency in psychiatry. Since completing his education and training, Dr. Jay Reibel has established himself as a prominent professional in fields related to health care administration, public policy, and clinical medicine. After serving as a Lieutenant Commander and Surgeon with the U. S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, Dr. Reibel went on to function as Assistant Director with the Department of Government Relations at the American Medical Association. After treating patients as a psychiatrist for several years, he established Four Winds Hospitals, a premier psychiatric institution with two locations in New York and one in Illinois. Dr. Jay Reibel acted as Chairman of the Board for 14 years, during which time he also functioned as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the publicly traded company Preferred Health Care, Ltd. Under the direction of Dr. Reibel, Preferred Health Care provided millions of patients with reliable mental health care services. Married with one daughter, Dr. Jay Reibel enjoys skiing, sailing, and shooting in his free time. In 1991, President George Bush honored Dr. Reibel by appointing him to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts' Advisory Committee on the Arts. An avid collector of different types of art, Dr. Jay Reibel collects American furniture from the 1700s and marine paintings from the 1800s.
