Boubaker Jaziri

Tunisia

Boubaker Jaziri. I was born in July 16, 1991 and raised in a lower middle class family in a rural village called Ouled Salah in Mahdia, a Tunisian coastal city. I knew we weren’t rich, but I didn’t think we were poor either. We always had a roof over our heads, heat, and food on the table.

I wasn’t always smart, I was actually very stupid in school especially in maths, but I knew I’m going to do great thing in life. I was a big dreamer, a person who is spiritually initiated, a pure idealist, who wants to make his dreams a reality.

After receiving my bachelor’s degree and considering my interests (asking big questions on life and meaning), my challenge was to choose a discipline to study in university. I hesitated between philosophy, literature, and law, and finally settled on philosophy, reasoning that I could study the other ones on my own. So I completed my first philosophy year in an institute called ‘Institut Préparatoire aux Études Littéraires et aux Sciences Humaines’ à Tunis.

I want to pursue my studies in a notable university—Yale or Harvard. I will get more experience and maturity and I will improve my skills and abilities and shall return with many ideas, plans, and projects that can change the face of my country, the Middle East, and the world at large.

The only problem I am facing is lack of money. My family wasn’t rich, so when it comes to money, I tend to think, ‘Err on the side of caution.’

I just need financial aid to realize my dreams and become the person that I always wanted to be.

I’m now 24-years old with a degree in philosophy.
