When I was younger, I had a gray Nintendo 3DS that I carried everywhere. I would simply insert the game card, whether it be My Littlest Pet Shop, Cooking Mama, or Kung Fu Panda, and play for countless hours. It was my most prized possession until my younger brother accidentally dropped it and broke the screen. Truthfully, my devastation was short-lived as I discovered I could play video games on the computer. My passion for video games and everything that has to do with them–graphics, storylines, characters–only grew from there. In fact, it grew alongside my brother’s same desire. Both he and I hope to one day create a video game of our own.

My brother and I frequently visit a local toy store where they sell old consoles, games, collectibles, and other cool stuff. It is our favorite spot in our hometown and we always purchase something upon visiting. We recently bought a game cube which we have been using to play Paper Mario; I also replaced my gray DS with a new blue one.

I am currently studying computer science and am thinking of joining a gaming development program. While I know the idea of pursuing a career dealing with games seems foolish at times, it truly is something I am passionate about. I would love to make something that anyone and everyone could access and enjoy.
