Software Engineer in Washington, DC
My work centers around information extraction, specifically the extraction of political events from unstructured text. Additionally, much of my time is spent solving infrastructure problems around the deployment and scaling of natural language processing and data analytic software and models.
I received my Ph.D. student in political science from the Pennsylvania State University, with a focus on political methodology. I also spent time as a fellow in the NSF Big Data Social Science IGERT program. Finally, I am a founding member of the Open Event Data Alliance, which endeavors to create and disseminate open-source software for the generation of political event data
