Justin Bourke is a journalist by trade and self-appointed ambassador of Internet culture with a love of travel, adrenaline-fueled activities, and music that nobody else likes. He is currently working as a science journalist and strategist for BetterBio - a non-profit whose mission is to improve the quality of science media by engaging teens, parents and patients in its creation. In his less productive time, Justin enjoys gawking at ironic Internet memes, watching documentaries on Netflix, and enjoying the many distractions that Boston living has to offer.
Justin believes that the highest aspiration of any journalist is to be engrossing without resorting to sensationalism. He greatly admires the work of Jon Stewart, who he sees as a leader in challenging the obsession with conflict in our 24-hour news cycle.
Justin is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Economics. This Fall he will begin his graduate studies in Broadcast Journalism at Boston University.
