Julio C. Esperias, Jr.
Hello! My name is Julio C. Esperias, my friends call me JC and I'm a product of South Los Angeles and proud to call my home. I began my professional career with Southwest Voter Registration Education Project where I gained valuable insight on the importance of increasing the participation of Latinos in the American democratic process. I have worked for non-profit organizations focusing on a wide variety of issues, including HIV/AIDS, STEM education, immigration, and voter education. I also worked for NALEO Educational Fund, where I was responsible for the recruitment of the nation's Latino elected and appointed officials. In this capacity I played an important role in shaping the largest national network of Latino leaders devoted to shaping and improving American society. A native of South Los Angeles, I am a graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz with a B.A. in Legal Studies. I have a vast interest in helping communities in South Los Angeles and policy makers find strategic solutions to problems associated to land use, housing, economic development, the environment, sustainability, and the design of livable communities.
