John C. Laird enjoyed writing throughout his life, but didn't take the plunge into publication until 2011. He figured God must be getting pretty impatient with the old 'life is getting in the way' excuse.

Since then, he has had multiple stories published in The Storyteller Magazine including "Redemption", which won the 2011 "Silver Quill Society Best Short Fiction Award", and "Jake and the Girl with the Pretty Legs", which won the Writing on the Walls contest and earned his story a spot in the fourth "Writing on the Walls" anthology. He has won multiple contests on AuthorStand.com and co-moderates the largest-member group, "Serious Writers", on BookRix.com, an international writer's forum with over half a million members.
