John C. Laird enjoyed writing throughout his life, but didn't take the plunge into publication until 2011. He figured God must be getting pretty impatient with the old 'life is getting in the way' excuse.

Since then, he has had multiple stories published in The Storyteller Magazine including "Redemption", which won the 2011 "Silver Quill Society Best Short Fiction Award", and "Jake and the Girl with the Pretty Legs", which won the Writing on the Walls contest and earned his story a spot in the fourth "Writing on the Walls" anthology. He has won multiple contests on and co-moderates the largest-member group, "Serious Writers", on, an international writer's forum with over half a million members.

Born and raised in Michigan, John C. Laird attended Long Beach State College in California after high school. Moving back to Michigan after seven years, he spent twenty-six years in law enforcement before relocating to New Mexico and adding another five years with a local department.

Besides writing those numerous short stories, he published his first novel in 2014: FROM TIME TO TIME: A LOVE STORY. His second book, the thriller FOUR MINUTES, is at the publishers and will be out before Christmas 2016.

J.C. Laird is now retired, writing, and living in Florida.
