Jason Cockerham

First of all, God has enourmously blessed my life. I have had an incredible journey so far that is only really just beginning.

I am currently an actor living in Los Angeles, California. I have been here for almost a year and what a year it has been, but first a little background.

I grew up just outside of Houston, Texas in a town called Sugar Land. After high school, I went to Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. I was there for 5 years and was invovled in a variety of things while I was there. I graduated in May 2011. My first 4 years, I was in an organization called the Corps of Cadets. It is a military training organization that sends hundreds of very well qualified officers to our armed forces every year. It was a tough, but very fun and fulfilling experience for me. Within the Corps itself, there are a lot of special units a few of which I got to be involved in. My freshman year, I was on the Fish Drill Team which is a rifle drill squad that has won the national competition more than 50 times in the last 60 years. My sophomore through senior years, I was in the Parson's Mounted Cavalry which is one to the coolest things I have ever had the pleasure to be a part of. It is a horse mounted military drill and ceremony unit that goes all over the country. We take part in rodeos, parades, and events all over the country.

Starting in my 1st senior year, I got involved with a local theatre group called Brazos Valley Troupe. I started doing some shows there and absolutely fell in love with acting and the people there. It became like a second home to me. The director of the theatre, M. A. Sterling, introduced me to a lady named Nikki Pederson. She is an absolutely wonderful lady and the two of them really set me on the path to becoming an actor. Nikki took me and 11 other people and trained us for 6 months to take us to a national talent competition called the Internation Model and Talent Association (IMTA). This competition happens twice a year, once in Los Angeles in January, and again in the summer in New York City. I attended the one in New York in the summer of 2011 and due in no small part to Nikki's training, did very well at the competition. About a month after the competition, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting full time.
