I am a Sophomore Marketing major here at UMass Amherst. I am originally from the suburban town of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. I realized I wanted to study marketing in college after I interned for a networking chamber, Corridor Nine Chamber of Commerce. My position at this business opened my eyes to marketing events to the public, a career I strive to be in. Which leads to my passion of working in New York City after I graduate from UMass. I have visited this area multiple times, and every time I return, I fall inlove with the city more and more. The culture in each borough is different from the other, offering unique experiences. But every part of New York shares the same unprecedented opportunities where everyone can achieve his or her dreams. Having restaurants on every corner is just another bonus. It has become too easy to locate pizza, wings, or Chinese food at 3 in the moring. Who wouldn't love that?

I aspire to work in the Upper East or West side, working for a business that markets events for other companies. I hope to live in either of these areas, but I know I'm starting to dream really big with that wish. Being on the marketing club, and running/marketing my student-operated coffee business, Morning Grind, will hopefully prepare me enough to achieve my goal. This goal has motivated me to work hard in my academics because I will not accept anything less than fulfilling my desire of working in the city.
