“Little Miss Magic,” A song written and performed by one of my favorite musical artists, Jimmy Buffett. A song that was sung to me by my father; a song I now sing to my daughter. The lyrics are about a father’s pride for his daughter who is determined, passionate, and her own person. He reflects and questions what his little girl will be one day…

With little doubt, my father knew I was going to work closely with people. I embraced everyone around me, loved to talk, was fearless and was a social butterfly if you will…I loved any excuse to have a party.

When I decided to begin my hospitality career in college I began planning the events for the university. I then moved from my small hometown in WI to the big city of Chicago where I worked as a meeting planner. Shortly after I began my career in hotel sales. It is now where I find myself truly reflecting on that song my dad once sang to me for I am working for one of the most “magical” destinations in the World. The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort in Orlando, FL. The “magic” is in the people, the culture, and it’s unique location. The “magic” is real. The “magic” is contagious.

I wish for everyone to find his or her “magic.” And, well, as for my Dad… I will always be his, “Little Miss Magic.”
