Sentry Salvage was co-founded in Jersey City, NJ in 1993 by John Cleary and Jim Korbo. Sentry has steadily grown to become a National Salvage firm for the Insurance/Retail Industry with offices from coast to coast. We provide salvage services to some of the largest insurance carriers and retail brands in the United States. We also handle claims worldwide.
I graduated from the University of Scranton in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics/Finance. In 1995, I completed my Masters Degree (MBA) in Corporate Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University-Madison.
My responsibilities includes co-managing US Catastrophe Operations, handling complex stock and equipment losses, and marketing insurance companies and risk managers.
I enjoy working in the salvage business and see every job, project and even inquiry as an opportunity to help someone or a company. I work primarily with retail stores and their insurers offering solutions that will minimize loss and get the business back up and running. I can inventory and evaluate merchandise or equipment at actual cash value or replacement cost. I can offer ideas on fairly discounting goods with obsolescence issues.
