James C Williams
For ten years, James C. Williams has been traveling and photographing the beautiful and the bizarre, the gorgeous and the grotesque.
With a background in video and film production, Williams was taught basic still film photography by his wife, artist Amy Funderburk. He was also influenced by his friend and guiding mentor, the late Sir Simon Marsden. Williams has exhibited since 2005 in England, Ireland and the US. In 2010 he was awarded a project assistance grant from the Arts Council of Winston-Salem Forsyth County to travel to England and continue his ongoing infrared film photography series, The Sacred and the Ancient.
Williams lives in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA with his wife, Amy Funderburk, several cats and some garden gnomes . Each Halloween, their yard is transformed into a terrifying playground for trick-or-treaters. He has a fondness for horror films and the paranormal, which influence his subject choice of cemeteries, haunted locations and ancient ruins and sacred spaces. He is also a fan of science fiction (Doctor Who), the Steam Punk aesthetic and cosplayers.
Williams is currently seeking gallery representation, marketing/sales, global fame and fantastic wealth.
