I was born and raised in the south. After completing school I joined the US Coast Guard and served for 7 years. I was stationed in Key West, Florida, Atlantic Beach, North Carolina, and Alameda, California. During my time in the USCG I worked in narco-terrorism, immigration, fisheries, search and rescue, general law enforcement, and project management.
After completing my tour in the USCG, I moved back to the Georgia and started working in local law enforcement. I started out in the county jail as a jail deputy, then moved to the road as a road deputy. After working at two sheriff's offices I moved to Georgia Tech and started working the police department as a patrol officer. I then spent two years working an explosive detection K-9, and then back to the road. During my time as a patrolman I have been able to teach many great officers how to patrol in a university setting as an FTO.
