Soccer followed me through every phase of my life up until I left for college. I first joined a team when I was four years old and continued to play until I graduated from high school in 2015. I played in a recreational league for five years, and when I was finally at the age where I could play competitively, about nine years old, I tried out for my first club soccer team, known as Concorde Fire. This team was filled with skillful players who all had a fierce competitiveness and a strong determination to succeed in everything they did, which is why I tried out in the first place. We were always an above average team and were consistently ranked in the top 15 in Georgia. Other than Concorde Fire, I also played for my high school, Woodward Academy. I managed to make the varsity roster all four years of high school and had moderate success each season. Some of my proudest accomplishments in high school are winning one state title, making it to two state finals, winning three region championships, being awarded MVP of my team junior year, and being ranked eighth nationally in 2012. I believe that the primary reason I stuck with soccer my whole life was because it matched my personality well. It is a game that rarely stops or slows down, similar to the way I always want to be doing something productive, not just laying around or taking many breaks. It is also a game in which a team can only win with outstanding teamwork, not with a bunch of show-off individuals. I have never been a fan of people who try to take the spotlight for themselves, but instead I always admired those who want to share their success with others.
