He was born to jamaican parents who migrated from Kingston jamaica in the 80's to the south bronx, New York, where they later had Jay as he is commonly known as by family and friends.
Growing up in the birth place of hip hop made jay no stranger to the cultural sounds of hiphop, R&b & dancehall music. He grew up in a heavy cultured jamaican home which embedded the sounds of dancehall music in his blood, but being born & raised in (The Boogie down) bronx also embedded the sounds of hiphop music in his soul.
Fascinated and captivated by the strong growing hiphop movement, J diamondz began to write his own raps over hiphop instrumentals, then demoing them on his speaker box his mom bought him as a gift at the age of twelve. Over the years J diamondz would develop his style and artistry with help from many legendary producers and artist in the music industry, making him a tripple threat being able to write and compose his own songs for himself and others, and being able to rap both in english and jamaican patios on both hiphop and dancehall tracks.
In the early 2000's jay would travel the world to such places as Japan, Paris, Dubai & China just to name a few, linking up with promoters showcasing his music talents overseas way before artist now started to do so.
J diamondz has also evolved into a strong well experienced stage performer filled with energy, style and a whole lot of drip, charming looks for the ladies with that rude boy jamaican attitude. Hes learned alot about working a stage from touring the states with Gullyside wethebest reggae star Mavado. In 2017 J diamondz released his hot street single "gully so gully" which features the "gully gad" Mavado in the classic "Shottas" themed video which got over 1million views on worldstarhiphop.com.
