J. Scott Donahue

J. Scott Donahue once had to read Jon Krakauer’s Into Thin Air in Mr. Hancock’s Freshman English class. Donahue soon dreamed of traveling to Nepal, climbing the Himalayas, hanging out with Sherpas, and writing about it. Leaving his hometown of Sacramento to study English at Loyola Marymount University, he took every opportunity to write and edit for newspapers and magazines. In 2012, he finally made it to Nepal, where he climbed a small Himalayan peak, drank rice beer with Sherpas and, yes, wrote about it. He currently lives in the East Bay where he teaches English, roots for the A’s, and studies nonfiction writing as a grad student.
