Joe-la Dowdy

Hi there! My name is Joe-la (pronounced Joe as in "Joe" with an addition of la as in "fa so la ti do"). I am an Ob/Gyn. I live in northern Michigan (that doesn't mean I am not a hardcore Steeler's Fan, mind you) with my husband, two kids, three dogs, and a cat. I love all types of writing but the horror genre will always feel like home to me. My blog has evolved into its current version which is my favorite. I'm working through 365 prompts from Michael Arnzen's book Instigation: Creative Prompts on the Dark Side. I turned 40 last year and I decided it was time to follow my dreams of writing a novel. The first step is tapping into my creativity and writing every day. So while I work diligently at my longer projects, this blog is dedicated to putting my brain in the right mind set and seeing what kind of madness I can come up with.
