Jean Galvanis
Since establishing his consulting firm Spectrum IT, Inc. in 2001, Jean Galvanis has overseen numerous Enterprise IT Architecture and Business Intelligence projects. Mr. Galvanis’ team has undertaken high-profile management consulting projects on behalf of Advertising.com/AOL Inc., The Advisory Board Company, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, Inc., and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Spectrum IT’s 2007 to 2008 consulting work for Houston-based Waste Management, Inc. involved specification of the firm’s data distribution architecture and developing an Enterprise Logical Data Model. Mr. Galvanis guided the members of the Data Architecture team as they created physical models and assisted in Metadata capture and synchronization as well as Data Profiling. Mr. Galvanis holds an M.A. in Economics and Quantitative Analysis from Western Illinois University in Macomb. He has also studied software engineering and computer technology, and earned certification in systems analysis through Oracle University, an educational program sponsored by Oracle Corporation. In the late 1980s, Jean Galvanis took on responsibilities as Research Economist and Analyst with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). In this capacity, Mr. Galvanis performed economic research into capital markets, analyzing economic assistance programs and foreign investment. He also undertook IMF statistical analyses that considered the aggregate economic effects of finance and international trade. These studies were published in International Financial Statistics and other financial reviews. From 1990 to 2001, Jean Galvanis served as a Principal Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers International Limited, undertaking data architecture implementations. Mr. Galvanis focused on meeting time and budgetary constraints while implementing easy-to-use systems that met client specifications. He also provided tailored professional development and technical assistance to project members and contributed white papers and other informational materials to PricewaterhouseCoopers’ resource center. Mr. Galvanis maintains affiliation with the African Diaspora Coalition of North Carolina, and was featured in the President Obama's inaugural 2009 edition of Who’s Who in Black Washington, DC. Jean Galvanis is widely read in political philosophy and enjoys nonfiction works by Ken Wilber and Sam Harris.
