Jean Jarvis Piedmont
Piedmont, CA
A photographer and community leader in her hometown of Piedmont, California, Jean Jarvis currently divides her time between a variety of artistic and philanthropic endeavors. A former retail buyer for I. Magnin/Bullocks Wilshire and product developer for the Sesame Street clothing line, Jean Jarvis began her professional career in photography in the early 2000s as a freelancer for Sunset magazine. Over the next three years, she published her travel photos in several issues of the lifestyle magazine, showing readers glimpses of hidden treasures in northern California. In 2003, she submitted a photograph and won inclusion in DK’s America 24/7, a book covering a week in the everyday lives of Americans. She has since continued to hone her craft through workshops and conferences across the country.
Aside from photography, Ms. Jarvis has played an active role in the community, with board memberships at Piedmont organizations such as the East Bay Children’s Choir, the Parent Club, and the Unified School District’s Wellness Center, where she recently served as chair.
