I am in the process of earning my teaching certification as part of a career change, or as I like to explain it, exhaling. If you have ever seen the movie, "Waiting to Exhale," you know what I mean! I feel like I exhaled when I decided to leave the business world and enter a classroom. Simply put, I love it. I have four classes left, including this semester, and then student teaching. I hope to teach right away! I plan on obtaining a technology certification right away and then a Master's degree in Administration. My goal is to become a principal.
I have been married for 16 years and we have three boys who are teaching me the greatest lessons of all.....everyday.
I love to read. I just finished Orchid Beach, which was good. I am reading The Best Laid Plans, which strikes me as silly but it is light reading and we all need an ecape! I recently read The Help, which I loved and cannot recommend enough!
In my spare time, I am on the baseball diamond somewhere with my three boys--they all play year-round. It is a blast! I also love houses, especially old ones. My neighbor and I go to the Edenton Christmas House tour every year and it is the highlight of my year. We have a blast and love the architecture of the older homes.
I love anything Google and Apple related! I love technology and wish our schools had more money to use technology in a broader manner. Unfortunately I was introduced to Facebook (www.facebook.com) a few years ago! It is a great escape and I have "found" many old friends. I love to see how the kids that I used to ride Big Wheels with have grown up. So much fun! I also like all the links to local happenings and businesses. It has been fascinating seeing pictures of Hurricane Irene damages that are posted there. I have many websites that I love, including www.google.com and all its off-shoots. I read our local paper online at www.dailyadvance.com.
