Jeany Liong is a recent graduate of Industrial Design program at RMIT University in Melbourne. With an interest in design for disability, Jeany aspires to design products for positive change; enhancing people’s quality of life and their ability to contribute to society.
Her major project at RMIT titled ElectroCane explored vision impairment. Developing a walking blind cane that involves technology within in, she is trying to develop and push the boundaries of the conventional walking blind cane. This design project has furnished Jeany with greater awareness of the issues facing the vision disability within the community.
She is passionate and thrives to herself to be an independent and fast learner. Having to live her university life in Melbourne alone made her more aware of the difference in the art, music, and literature. She also fined it fascinated when she can identify the similarities and differences in these two cultures.
